Liquid Lens Controllers and Drivers enable users to access the full functionality of variable focus lenses from
Optotune and Corning® Varioptic®. A variety of options are available for ease of use and integration. The
Gardasoft TR-CL180 Industrial Lens Controller is GigE Vision® Compliant with 0,1 mA steps and compatible
with all Optotune Industrial Focus-Tunable Lenses with Hirose connectors. The USB powered Optotune Lens
Drivers 4 and 4i are simple-to-use alternatives for controlling the Optotune Lenses. The 4i driver features a
Hirose connector and is compatible with Optotune Industrial Lenses, while the 4 driver is compatible with
Optotune Focus Tunable Lenses with an FPC connector. Maxim Driver boards with either USB or I2C interface
are available individually or as part of development kits to control all Corning Varioptic focus tunable lenses.

Corning® Varioptic® Variable Focus Liquid Lenses consist of a conductive liquid deposited on a flat, conductive
substrate. Applying a voltage between the substrate and the liquid causes an insulated material within the
liquid to change shape, yielding a variable focal length. These lenses are designed with a stable optical axis, can
operate regardless of orientation, and feature AR Coatings optimized for excellent transmission between 400
and 700 nm. The 1,6 mm aperture lens is the smallest liquid lens currently available and specifically designed
for ultra-compact cameras, such as barcode engines, industrial and medical endoscopes. A 2,5 mm aperture
lens for high speed applications and a 3,9 mm aperture lens for long focal lengths, large sensor size, and laser
applications are also offered, as well as the largest available 5,8 mm clear aperture lens that has been designed
for machine vision applications with long focal distance objectives, large sensors, or C-Mount objective lenses.
The lenses are also available in development kits which include lenses, drive electronics, cables, and software
for easy use and integration via USB-A connection. Versions with thermistor (temperature-dependent resistors)
for temperature sensitive applications are also available.

Optotune 3 mm Clear Aperture Focus Tunable Lenses
are easily integrated into a variety of Machine Vision
applications including inspection, sorting, and bar code
reading. By applying a current, the Optotune 3 mm
Clear Aperture Focus Tunable Lenses are able to quickly
change shape from concave to convex, and provides
an adjustment of -13 to +13 diopters (-77 to +77 mm).
With a small form factor of 10 mm diameter x 4 mm
thick, low power consumption, and fast settling time,
these lenses are the ideal option for OEM integration.
