Polka-Dot Beamsplitters feature a constant reflection/transmission ratio over a broad wavelength range. The
UV-NIR version feature a vacuum deposited enhanced aluminum coating on fused silica substrates with fixed
square apertures, guaranteeing 30/70, 50/50, or 70/30 reflection/transmission ratios from 250 to 2000 nm.
The VIS-NIR versions feature the same coating designs on a low-cost B270 substrate, yielding constant performance
from 400 to 2000 nm. Incident light is reflected by the coated area and is transmitted through the
surrounding uncoated substrate. Polka-Dot Beamsplitters are not angle sensitive, therefore they are ideal for
splitting energy from a radiant light source with a beam diameter of at least 2 mm. These beamsplitters are
especially useful with broadband, extended sources, such as tungsten, halogen, and xenon lamps, and for use
in monochromators, spectrophotometers, and other optical systems. Note: The surface of these beamsplitters
is very sensitive and should never be touched when handling the optic. If cleaning is required to remove dust
particles, non-contact cleaning using clean compressed air is recommended

Pellicle Beamsplitters are very thin nitrocellulose
membranes bonded to lapped aluminum frames
that feature no ghost images from second surface
reflections. To ease system integration, Pellicle
Beamsplitters offer mounting holes on the underside
of the frame. Pellicle Beamsplitters are resistant to
mechanical shock or climate variations, but must be
protected from dust and spray to avoid damage to the
pellicle membrane. Note: Extra care must be taken
when handling.
