Infrared (IR) Wire Grid Polarizers are used to polarize
light from unpolarized infrared laser sources, as well
as attenuate light from polarized ones. When two wire
grid polarizers are used together, high extinction ratios
greater than 40,000:1 can be achieved. The polarization
axis of each polarizer is marked by two white
lines etched into the surface of its protective ring.
Infrared (IR) Wire Grid Polarizers are used in a variety
of medical imaging, aerospace, FTIR spectrophotometry,
and analytical instrumentation applications.
Note: Special care should be taken when handling
KRS-5 and Zinc Selenide as they are toxic materials.
Always wear rubber or plastic gloves to avoid risk of
contamination.

• AR Coated for Superior Transmission
• High Heat Resistance with Low Thermal Expansion
• Feature Wide Angle of Incidence Range without Performance Loss
High Contrast IR Wire Grid Polarizers are ideal for broadband infrared applications that require high transmission
and contrast, including spectroscopy, thermal imaging, or astronomy. High Contrast IR Wire Grid
Polarizers are designed using a lightweight, thin, silicon substrate, making them ideal for weight-sensitive systems,
such as UAVs. The polarizers’ wire grid technology allows the angle of incidence to vary ±20° without
displaying performance loss. Note: Due to the wire grid being exposed, special care should be taken when
handling to prevent damage to the polarizer.
• Ideal for Fiber Optic and Laser Applications
• 750 - 850nm and 1000 - 2000nm Wavelength Ranges
• 1000:1 Extinction Ratio
These high contrast NIR Linear Polarizers consist of a polymer polarization lm layered between two at
pieces of optical quality glass. These polarizers are ideal for a variety of applications involving low power NIR
lasers, LEDs, and other NIR sources. Their extended broadband range is also ideal for a variety of telecommunication
devices including ber optic isolators and couplers.
