Crystalline Quartz Polarization Rotators
• Rotates Polarization by a Fixed Angle Regardless of Incident Polarization Angle
• Convenient Replacement of Half-Waveplate for Narrow Waveband Lasers
• 1064nm, 532nm, and 355nm Anti-Re ection Coatings Available in both 45° and 90° Rotation Angles
Crystalline Quartz Polarization Rotators rotate the polarization plane of an incident beam by a fi xed angle,
regardless of the rotator’s alignment relative to the beam’s polarization. Polarization rotators are a good
alternative to waveplates with regards to rotating polarization by a specifi c angle. They produce a rotation
in polarization caused by the optical activity naturally present in quartz crystals being independent of the
rotator’s orientation around the optical axis. The Crystalline Quartz Polarization Rotators only need to be
aligned perpendicular to the direction of propagation of light. Rotators with fi xed 45° or 90° rotation at
Nd:YAG wavelengths, mounted in a black anodized aluminum mount, are available.

• Converts Linear Polarization to Radial or Azimuthal
• Converts Circular Polarization to an Optical Vortex (Donut-Shaped Beam)
• High Damage Thresholds in the Nano- and Femtosecond Range
Radial Polarization Converters (S-waveplates) are space-variant retarders designed to convert linear polarization
to radial or azimuthal polarization to reduce laser beam spot size. Alternatively, they can be used to convert
circularly polarized light to an optical vortex (donut-shaped beam). The converters are manufactured by inscribing
self-organized nanogratings inside fused silica using a femtosecond laser. Radial Polarization Converters
(S-waveplates) are benefi cial for a variety of polarization-sensitive applications. Radially polarized beams
are highly effi cient at micro-drilling high aspect-ratio features in metal, while vortex (donut-shaped) beams are
ideal for STED or two-photon excitation fl uorescence microscopy, laser micromachining, and optical tweezer
applications (multiple particle trapping).

Free-Space Optical Isolators
• Up to 67 dB Isolation for Ultimate Stability
• Up to 92% Transmission for Maximum Power
• 4.7mm Input Aperture
Free-Space Optical Isolators incorporate a Faraday
Rotator and are specifi cally designed and manufactured
to provide superior performance with high isolation,
transmission, and power densities. Each option
eff ectively reduces feedback in the external cavity of
diode laser systems and blocks refl ections from freespace
fi ber coupling. Free-Space Optical Isolators increase
power stabilization in optical systems and also
eliminate feedback-induced damage to sensitive optical
components. These isolators enable state of the
art protection for the most stable lasers in the world
and are ideal for demanding laser applications.
